Great Lakes Careers
Geologist
Geologists working in freshwater may be interested in the record of past climates as revealed in sediments. They may study the processes that led to formation of geological features in the Great Lakes region. Some geologists work for oil or mining companies and are responsible for identifying areas that may hold valuable deposits. Geologists may work for universities as researchers and teachers, for state and federal agencies like the U.S. Geological Survey, or for corporations.
